Hello Everyone,
I will be out of the office from December 25th to January 3rd. Lisa will be in the office for part of that time between January 1st and January 3rd from 9 am to noon. We will reopen for normal business hours on January 4th. Please let us know right away if you would like to see me this week or if you need a refill on an herbal tincture, homeopathic remedy or other supplement. When we are closed, as usual you can schedule appointments and refill most supplements via my website.
I wanted to highlight two items that I find extremely helpful in surviving the holiday season: Vitamin B12 injections and Castor Oil Packs.
The injectable Vitamin B12 that I use is Methylcobalamin, the active form of B12 that is most readily used by the body. It is essential for normal function of the nervous system. I like to use the injectable form form to give a rapid energy and mood boost. If you find yourself really dragging during this busy season, it could be beneficial. I also find the injections invaluable in helping to recover your energy after an infection such as Covid.
For those that are needing help with restful sleep and smooth digestion, I recommend Castor Oil Packs at night. This is a traditional Naturopathic treatment that encourages parasympathetic nervous system activity to “rest and digest”. Castor oil absorbed through the skin over the liver and gallbladder has a gentle detoxifying effect. You’ll wake up very well rested (I find it helps me get into a dream state) with a flat stomach. It enhances your ability to have regular bowel movements. This treatment can be done any time but I find it especially beneficial when I have an upset stomach or have overeaten or eaten too late at night and suspect that I won’t sleep well as a result. It helps almost immediately. We carry the supplies to do this treatment with lovely soft mess-free compresses from Canada.
Let us know if you have questions about either of these treatments or would like to get started feeling better!
Warm wishes for your holiday season and I look forward to seeing you in January.
